Etsy Monday: A Alicia Accesories

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend picking pumpkins or making apple pie or doing some other Fall related activity! I myself tried my first spin class and can now barely move. Success! I love a good workout that leaves you in fear of stairs.

This week for Etsy Monday I have chosen A Alicia Accessories, a gorgeous shop of brooches, hair accessories, necklaces and more. She gives the colorful felt dimension and life in her arrangements of petals and bows, achieving a soft, feminine look that I adore. Enjoy, and be sure to check out her shop for more lovely treasures, including home accesories!

1. Orange Contrast Corsage Brooch $40, 2. Burnt Umber Blossom Corsage Brooch $45, 3. Woodland Corsage Brooch $45, 4. Navy Classic Corsage Brooch $40.

My New Esty Shop, and Giveaway!

I am super excited to share with you all that I have opened a shop on Etsy! It is still pretty bare right now, I only have four listings, but we all have to start somewhere, right? To celebrate this crafty entrepreneurial occasion, I am having a giveaway!! You can win one of my flower pin brooches!

To enter, visit my shop here then come back and leave a comment telling me which of my four brooches is your favorite. To get a SECOND entry become a follower and leave a separate comment letting me know you are a PPR follower! I'll be picking a winner next Friday, the 2nd. Good luck!!

This Belt Drives the Head Gears

I have this belt that I have loved and owned for a very long time. Years. Since high school, I believe. A beautiful, industrial chain finished with purple and pink ribbons, it was more rockstar than I could ever figure out how to work into my outfits. But since the love continued, it was never parted with. This past weekend, after years of the gears in my head turning, I gave the belt new life.

Simply by trimming the ribbon down (and melting the ends to prevent frays) I have a new statement necklace! I wore it out already for sushi night with one of my girls, with success! My friend liked it (and her opinion on things like this ALWAYS matters to me) and so did the waitress! What do you think?

New Anthropologie

I love the new collection from Anthropologie, a layered, textured, colorful array of pieces to mix and match. The collection is school themed, and I can definitely see myself wearing these ensembles to class, especially as the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to change.

Come Fly With Me...

As part of my Human Factors education I am required to take a course in Aviation Accident Investigation: the aviation sector was the first to understand the importance of human factors in design and human-technology interaction. Since I have planes on the brain, I decided to take a flight through Etsy to see what aeronautic treasures I want in my next carry-on.

Braid-y Bunch

So I have a new favorite hairstyle that apparently has been popular for some time thanks to the Hills and Lauren Conrad, but since I tend to not watch shows about rich kids, including My Sweet Sixteen, I didn't catch on to this trend until now: the side braid. I Love it. Yes, that is a capital L, my friends.

Its all I can do to not wear it everyday. Its easy (if you know how to french braid), its adorable, it tames those bangs that are growing out, and it stays all day! I even went through one of those waterfall rides last weekend at Cedar Point amusement park and the braid was still intact after being pounded with three waterfalls (I got an extra dose of lucky on that one). Here's today's version, sans waterfalls:

Even though summer is fading fast, I'm still going to be rocking the braid for some time. I might even try to pull off this look below, a la Gossip Girl (another show I don't watch, but at least this is fiction about rich kids).

Happy Braiding!

Sharp Flats

As Fall approaches and I won't be able to wear flip flops every day I have found myself craving a closet full of flats. I would love a collection that rivals my collection of heels. My honey is about half of an inch taller than me, and I love being eye level with him (not that I still don't love putting on my stacks for a girls night). These are some of my favorites from Piperlime right now:

Marc by Marc Jacobs: 693139 in Pink and White $129.99

Mia: Medallion in Black $60

Very Volatile: Brenda in Black and Wine $45

Ciao Bella: Frankie in Pewter $79

Ciao Bella: Pause in Green $79

BCBGirls: Ferny in Tobacco Crosta $79

Now if only I could have all of these, I would have a nice selection of casual, dress, and fun flats to choose from! If only!

Gorgeous Dresses

My inbox gave me more beauty today when I opened up an email with sale items from Nordstrom. This BCBGMAXAZRIA Lace &Tulle Tier Gown is on sale for $379.90, and I think that it would make a perfect wedding dress for someone that doesn't want big, poofy, and expensive! Not that I'll be looking anytime soon, but its a good idea to keep in mind for any girl! The sidebar produced these beauties too:

BCBGMAXAZRIA Strapless Silk Gown, $360

BCBGMAXAZRIA Strapless Applique Dress, $398

In fact, all of Nordstroms's Wedding Dresses are very resaonably priced. Most under $500, and some under $200! With dresses this beautiful for such a great price, I don't think I could ever spend thousands on a dress. I think this $178 JS Boutique Beaded Crisscross Matte Jersey Gown is my favorite right now!

Adorable Aprons

My inbox gave me the gift of new Anthropologie the other day, including the beautiful Spring Mix Apron on the right, below. I've been wanting a cute apron for a long time since I love baking, and who wouldn't want to look cute while making treats? These three are my favorites on their site right now. Running about $25-$40, they are a pretty good buy, even not on sale!

Top: Lulea $32, Left: Twittering Teatime $28, Right: Spring Mix $38
